P.S. I Love You Day

Before the break, our students participated in their first P.S. I Love You Day, which took place on Feb. 14 this year. P.S. I Love You Day is a Long Island-based nonprofit dedicated to spreading awareness, ending stigma and creating hope for those affected by mental illness. Each year, on the second Friday of February, participants show their support by wearing purple. This year’s theme, “A Brighter Tomorrow Begins Today,” encouraged the entire staff and student body to take part by wearing purple in solidarity.
The eighth grade Health class, which was in the middle of its mental health unit, played an active role in promoting kindness throughout the day. Students distributed purple heart stickers and decorated the school with purple hearts featuring positive messages. Throughout the week, they also participated in activities focused on spreading kindness, caring for mental health and supporting others.
There is hope that this will become an annual tradition at Bridgehampton, allowing the event to grow and further raise awareness for this important cause in the years to come.
